Noel (ノエル Noeru?) is one of the Seven Heroes and one of the main antagonists from Romancing SaGa 2. Of the Seven Heroes, Noel is considered the most noble and rational of the group. Noel is Wagnas' closest friend and the brother of Rocbouquet.
Noel can be found in the Wandering Lake, a mirage city within the Melu Desert. The city itself changes location, determined by a random variable dependent upon the number of battles the players have had.

Story[edit]
Prior to the events of the game, Wagnas along with the other Seven Heroes were once human and had lived in the Forgotten Village.
Upon first meeting Noel, Noel will be dueling the Desert Guard. The player will try to intervene. If the players had previously defeated Rocbouquet, then Noel will gladly take up the challenge. If not, Noel will try to negotiate a peace treaty, and give the players the option to not fight him then and there. However, if the player then kills Rocbouquet after making the treaty, and speaks to him again back at the Wandering Lake, a fight will occur.
Depending upon the player's actions interacting with Rocbouquet and their current power level, they can meet a total of four different forms of Noel. If the players had not defeated Rocbouquet, the fight with Noel will happen in two stages, with the second stage having stronger moveset. However, if Rocbouquet had already been defeated, Noel will start out the fight with all of his moves to bear.

Strategy[edit]
In his unarmed form; Noel will most often counter physical attacks, using Magic or Non contact techniques such as Sonic Blade, Yo-yo, or Bow attacks/techniques will prevent him from countering. Self-Burning is highly recommended since it will negate Heat Dragon Wave.
In his Armed form, use Light Sword to counter all of his sword techs.

Lord of Vermilion[edit]
Noel and the rest of the Seven Heroes appeared as summonable units in Lord of Vermilion (ロード・オブ・ヴァーミリオン Rōdo obu Vāmirion), an arcade-based trading card game series developed by Think Garage and distributed by Square Enix. Physical collectable trading cards enabled players to summon and control characters in the game via interactive play surface. For the SaGa series characters, these cards included short narratives and other trivia, providing fans with an insight into a character's personality and background where it may have otherwise been absent in the original games.

- Noel's name was inspired by taking Ueno, the name of one of the seven major train stations on the Tokyo Yamanote Line, and writing it backwards in katakana with the following modifications:
