~ Guella Ha |
Guella Ha (ゲラ=ハ Gera-ha?) is a minor playable character from Romancing SaGa and its remake Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song. He was born on Walon Isle and can be found at Northpoint.
He is voiced in Japanese by Kōsuke Okano in the remake.
Profile[edit]
Appearance[edit]
Guella Ha wears a light red vest (yellow in his overworld sprite), numerous necklaces and armlets, a black belt, baggy black pants, and some random beige cloth with black markings, tied around his lower torso.
In Minstrel Song, he has a more modest design, wearing what can only be described as a red and blue onesie with white stripes, and some oddly feminine shoes.
Personality[edit]
Guella Ha is shown to be a quite adventurous fellow, being Hawke's partner aboard the Lady Luck in his campaign, while waiting at Northpoint for new partners to join him on quests for every other protagonist's playthrough.
Story[edit]
Guella Ha is a member of the Geckling tribe from Walon Isle. Unlike his brethren, he does not harbor any resentment towards humans and decides to leave his village in search of adventure. He currently works as a helmsman on Hawke's ship, the "Lady Luck". In other characters' stories, he can be found sitting at the pub in Northpoint, ready to join at any time.

Battle[edit]
Guella Ha holds the distinction of being one of the few characters in the game with a higher-than-usual LP total, making him very adept for close range battle. The fact he is easy to recruit with no requirements makes him one of the most valuable party members in the game. He excels with a wide variety of weapons and his magic talent is respectable. Unfortunately, Guella has low Dexterity growth, making him inefficient with Foils and Bows. Since he starts with a fairly decent Lance equipped, he makes a good Lance specialist.
In the SNES original, Guella Ha also starts out with 3 defense without wearing any armor, perhaps due to his tough, scaly skin. This unique feature is bugged, and is lost immediately after equipping any armor on him.

Trivia[edit]
- Guella Ha must be in your party when completing the quest "Free the Gecklings". If you talk to the Geckling chief without Guella Ha in your party the Geckling chief will respond with "I have nothing to say to a hotblood." If you have Guella Ha, a scene will take place allowing you to complete the quest.
- Guella Ha is the only Geckling you are able to recruit throughout the entire game. Considering he is the only Geckling who wants to give humans a chance, this is understandable.
