Gian (ジャン Jiyan?) is a minor playable character from Romancing SaGa and its remake, Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song. He was born in the Bafal Empire. He can be found at the Elizabeth Palace in Melvir.
He is voiced in Japanese by Takeshi Sasaki in the remake.
Appearances[edit]
- Recruitable from Elizabeth Palace in Melvir, however to gain entrance, one must complete A Suspicious Demise.
- He also plays a role during Neville's Request, however to start that quest, one must not have Gian in the part. Gian joins the player at some point, should there be a free slot in the party, however he does leave at the end of the quest.

Background and Story[edit]
Gian is an Imperial Knight of the Bafal Empire and works for Lord Neville. At the beginning of Claudia's scenario, he is being chased through Mazewood and Claudia, Brau and Sylvan must come to his aid and rescue him.
If you complete the "Suspicious Demise" quest you can gain access to the Elizabeth Palace on the 2F of Melvir and recruit Gian. If he is not in your party, Gian later goes missing while investigating Duke Loban, and you must rescue him from the Loban underground/dungeon.
Battle[edit]
Gian joins up with a Foil, and is equipped lightly, indicating a Rogue-type similar to Jamil. However, his Strength and Dexterity both grow at an average pace, and as such, Gian can excel within any physical combat role.
In comparison to his Strength and Skill, Gian's Magic growth is negligible, making it a waste of money to give him anything but healing and defensive spells.
