Patrick (パトリック Patorikku?) is a minor playable character in Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song. He was born in Bafal and can be found in Melvir at his house.

Patrick lives in Melvir and is the treasurer of the Imperial Depository in Aurefont. During the "Raid on the Depository" quest, it is revealed that he might be the one responsible for the robbery. While searching the sewers under Melvir, the party encounters some thieves with the stolen gold, right below Patrick's House. When you confront him about it, the police arrive and Patrick is put under house arrest by the emperor.
If you return to Patrick's House after these events, he will offer to join your party. This might require a bit of luck on the player's part, however, as "Raid on the Depository" has a rather low ER deadline. Since some players would either be unaware of the deadline or be ill-equipped, saving before entering the Sewers is highly advisable. The thieves that took Patrick's gold are highly agile and can take down an unprepared party in two to three turns. Equipment and items that raise agility are recommended.

Battle[edit]
Patrick starts out with the equipment setup of a mage. Unlike Myriam and Aldora, however, Patrick begins with no spells to his name and will have to be properly customized to be of any use. Considering how early he can be recruited, however, this gives the player ample time to build him up as they see fit.
In terms of statistics, Patrick is balanced by below average growth in Strength and Skill in addition to low growth in Endurance and Agility. This setup makes him most effective from the middle or back rows. He can fall into any fighting niche easily enough, though his stat growth will take some time to work around. Regardless, Patrick can be assigned any role and work well with it. If the player would like to keep him as a caster, he makes for an effective Imperial Scholar or Rosalian Mage.
