Nora (ノーラ Nōra?) is a character from Romancing SaGa 3. She is an optional playable character.

Appearance[edit]
Nora is a young woman with a muscular physique and purple hair. Instead of a typical blacksmith's leather apron, Nora wears a leather vest with vertical stripes and leather cords to accommodate her bust along with a ruddy undershirt. She wears a pair of gray work gloves with silver bracelets outside the wrist guards, with a matching torc on her left bicep, and her baggy pants are a faint lavender. Nora keeps her smithing tools on a belt hanging on her hip, and she keeps her curly hair pulled back with a red bandana covered in a yellow stripe pattern; a pair of large goggles rest on this bandana.

Story[edit]
Nora comes from a long line of blacksmiths, with her ancestor aiding the Matriarch in her war against the Sinistrals by reforging the demon Alloces's spear her own almighty lance. The spear would become the symbol of her family's legacy and skill in the craft, but it was stolen prior to the game's events during the Pidona war. Nora's father would depart to look for the spear but he was murdered in the process, his body found floating in the harbor three days later. The workers employed at the shop were deeply intimidated by this act and fled the city, leaving Nora alone to keep the place running.
The player will first encounter Nora in the family smithy in Pidona, where she is shown working alongside her boyfriend Cain while being very frustrated with herself over the flaws in the sword she is crafting. Nora will then run past the player while stating the shop is closed for the day; speaking to Cain, the man explains how the Matriarch's spear was stolen and Nora losing her father. Nora storms back into the room once the story is finished and states that she has made up her mind, that she is going to hunt down her father's killer and retrieve her family legacy. She then asks her lover to take care of the workshop while she is gone, but Cain refuses out of fear that she will end up a victim as well and argues with her to not go.
The player will be given the choice of helping Nora avenge her father's murder if the party consists of five or fewer members. The party leader will ask if the spear is the real deal, to which Nora affirms before explaining her father left her with two clues: a red earring made of coral, and the word "jackal". Special dialogue will play during this scene if the party includes Herman or Black Sparrow.

Recruitment[edit]
Nora can be recruited at Pidona by entering the weapon shop in the new town area and descending the stairs to the basement. After the cutscene, Nora will ask the party leader for help in avenging her father's murder.
Player should have 5 party members or less in the team if they wanted to recruit her, Because if the party is fulled with 6 member when they go to the shop's basement then Nora will left the shop and cannot be found anywhere for the rest of the game.
If the player parts with Nora, she can be found at the workshop and can be recruited again unless she is set to work on making equipment. As a trade off for losing her for good this way, the player gains 2 extra potential items to create based on where she is assigned to. (Weapons or Armor gets an extra 2 potential items)
