Eleanor (エレノア・ベルトワーズ Erenoa Berutowāzu?) is a character in SaGa Frontier 2. She is a consummate magician, and an expert in Flame Arts. She is not only very knowledgeable, but also quite self-confident and rather outspoken, voicing her thoughts.
Before Rich becomes the active character, Eleanor is the leader for two scenarios in the Rich Knights segment. While it seems the forest exploration and monster nest jobs are simple search and assess missions, in actuality Eleanor is gathering tactical information for Kelvin.
She later appears in "To the Fossil Cave" (though optionally if the player returns to the tavern immediately after entering the caves) and one final time in "To Cast a Rainbow" before retiring from work for good.

Gameplay[edit]
Eleanor is a magic-centric fighter, with adequate HP, high SP, and high proficiency with Flame Arts.
Though one may be tempted to turn Eleanor into a frontline fighter thanks to her generous HP growth, she has terrible proficiency with most weapon types except Staffs, and she has no real WP growth, making her very limited in using Weapon Arts. Thankfully, her high magic stat growth, and the highest natural affinity with Flame Arts of any character in the game makes her a prime candidate for being a Fire specialist mage. It does help to transfer over some other spell arts to round her out, since she has good affinity with most elements except Tree and Beast. She can potentially spark all but two of the Fire Arts, which are the elusive Soul Hymn and the mediocre Flame Naga spells. Still, if the player has reached Gen 2 with the Knights family story and still hasn't sparked all of the great crowd-controlling Fire spells, Eleanor can quickly help fill those gaps, especially since she comes with the Bushfire spell already learned.
Her best roles are magic focused ones like Heavy Spell and Protean, as well as supporting skills like Support and Commander.

- It is heavily implied that Eleanor harbors romantic feelings for Sargon from her conversation with Rich Knights in To Cast a Rainbow which also marks the first appearance of Sargon in the game.
