Ferdinand (フェルディナント Ferudinanto?) is a character from Romancing SaGa 3. He is an unseen figure throughout the game who is mentioned by several townspeople throughout the world. He is well-known for being the first Marquis of Loanne. He was originally from Lance. He was married to Hilda who also hailed from Lance. His descendants are Mikhail and Monika. He served the Matriarch as one of her trusted generals during the second coming of Morastrum.

Prior to the events of the story, Ferdinand had served the Matriarch as one of her three great generals. He had refused the throne to Messina and had decided to journey past the Jord Sea. It was thus that he descended upon Myules and had made his way towards the ancients ruins of Loanne. He brought forth the civilization of Loanne, establishing the marquisate and made Myules known as the gateway of the sea.
Following his rule of Loanne, Ferdinand had a throne crafted for him that has lasted up to the rule of Mikhail.
