1269 - The Southern Fort
The Southern Fort (1269) is the # 19th scenario on Gustave's side of the story in SaGa Frontier 2.

Objective[edit]
The scenario begins with Gustave in his camp waiting to hear from Flynn's son Dirk, who had been sent out on a scouting mission, but has appeared to have gone missing.
Later that night, Gustave's southern camp is overrun and burnt to the ground by monsters. Gustave sends his trusted friends Ventarbre and Flynn off and faces the monsters alone. Johan is the only one to remain by his side until the bitter, inevitable end.
You will face a series of Duels as Johan. No matter how often you win, the assassin's Scorpion venom in your veins (from betraying the Red Scorpion clan) costs you an LP at the end of each fight. Thus, you can only hold out a few rounds and are never able to successfully defend the fort.
In the aftermath of the blaze, Flynn and Ventarbre meet up with Dirk and his scouting party. Dirk tells them that a villager met with their group and claimed their village had been attacked by monsters and proceeded to lead the group on a wild goose chase, leading the team to believe there to be a connection with the attack on the Southern Camp. Flynn rushes back to help, followed by the others. Ventarbre and Dirk search the ruins for survivors and Gustave, but it would seem that Gustave's fate has been sealed...

- This scenario is a series of un-winnable Duels with Johan. Even if you defeat the opponents, you will eventually die due to the Scorpion's venom.
