Ice Sword is a Weapon of the Romancing SaGa and Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song.

About[edit]

A powerful ice magic sword with the magical power to fear even the power of Flame Tyrant, one of the four heavenly kings known as "Emperor of Fire".

It's a powerful magic sword, but if you advance the story to some extent in the game, it will be sold normally at Artur's weapon shop. It's so expensive compared to other weapons that it's not as easy to buy as it is usually overtaken by others. The protagonists who really want an ice sword to negotiate with Flame Tyrant, negotiate with a holy warrior who is showing off the ice sword near the store.

In Minstrel Song[edit]

The events surrounding the Ice Sword are the same as above, being instrumental to completing the sub-quests issued by The Elemental Lords. The Sword can be obtained one of three ways:

  • The player can buy the Ice Sword in the Altours Weapon Shop if they are just short of money and are able to sell enough items to afford it. Galahad will not appear in this instance.
  • Upon reaching the gold quota and not buying it beforehand, Galahad will spawn outside of the shop in Altours and will be in possession of the weapon. Talking to him with an empty party-slot allows him to be recruited and removed of the weapon with no hassle. If the player has garnered too much favor with any of the Dark Gods, Galahad will be disgusted and refuse to join, rendering this option unavailable.
  • If the player's party is full when spoken to, Galahad will refuse to hand the weapon over. The player is given a choice to relent or fight. (relenting essentially allows the player to ignore the quest or go for option #2) Choosing to fight Galahad will garner quite a bit of favor with Saruin and will remove Galahad from the game permanently.
