Background and Story

Patrick lives in Melvir and is the treasurer of the Imperial Depository in Aurefont. During the "Raid on the Depository" quest it is revealed that he might be the one responsible for the robbery. While searching the sewers under Melvir you discovers some thieves with the stolen gold, right below Patrick's House. When you confront him about it the police arrive and Patrick is put under house-arrest by the Emperor.

If you return to Patrick's House, after these events he will offer to join your party. This might require a bit of luck on the players' part however, as "Raid on the Depository" (The corresponding quest) has a rather low ER deadline. Since some players would either be unaware of the deadline or be ill-equipped, saving before entering the Sewers is highly advisable; since the theives that took Patrick's gold are highly agile and can take down an unprepared party in two-three turns. Agility-increasing items are recommended.
