{{J|Subier|スービエ|Sūbie}} is one of [[The Seven Heroes]] and one of the main antagonists from {{L|Romancing SaGa 2}}. He is a half octopus, half man hybrid. He has control over various sea creatures and pirates. An example of his control over pirates is his servant, Garon. He is the cousin of [[Wagnas]].

It is very hard to get him into his second form. One way to do this is to kill the Master of Ocean. His signature move is [[Maelstrom]], a powerful hit all water based attack.

==Profile==
===Appearance===
In his humanoid form, Subier is shown to have short green hair with a small ponytail on the back of his head. A being of two races, he has black scales covering his body. He dons violet armor on his torso and also has violet armor covering his legs.

In his initial corrupted form, Subier is shown to have succumbed to his octopus upbringing, possessing large pink tentacles where his legs used to be. His hair is a light green color and his muscular human torso is made visible on the surface. Following his defeat, he transforms into a fish-like being, with his tentacles now serving as his hair and the lower half of his body becoming similar to the lower half of a whale-like creature. His tentacles have become a violet color while his entire body retains a fleshy color.

==Story==
Prior to the events of the game, Subier served as one of the Seven Heroes. At some point, the Seven Heroes started using their powers against their own people. The Seven Heroes were banished via a device that transferred them to another dimension.

After thousands of years, the Seven Heroes returned to wreak their vengeance on the world.

At an undisclosed time, Subier had attempted to pursue the elusive Narwhal and her daughter, [[The Narwhal's Daughter|Lil Halhul]], in order to assimilate with them and gain their strength.

Subier had enlisted the aid of a pirate named Garon who had taken over Mobelm and command of the Armed Merchants. Garon had perished prior when the Narwhal sank his ship however he came back as a ghost.

After vanquishing Garon's ghost, Subier and the Emperor have their first meeting, wherein Subier states the vengeful intentions of the Seven Heroes.

At a later time, Subier is found to be operating out of the Frozen Sea, on the other side of the Nazelle Strait. The Emperor finds Subier and defeats him, ensuring that the Longit Sea is safe and resulting in Longit becoming a part of the empire.

It is later revealed by Orieve that the defeated hero was actually a clone of the original hero. Subier is ultimately defeated by the Emperor when his true body is decimated in the final battle.

In his first form, depending on when you fight him, he can be strong but not too strong. He always begins the battle with Maelstrom, so it`s best to have everyone heal in the first round, after which he uses it less often. His other attacks consist of a weak line lightning attack and a powerful tentacle attack that can do up to over 1000 damage. He also has a binding attack that has the chance to stun a party member. Water magic should not be used against Subier as he recovers 999 HP each round from it. Another good way to fight him is to have a [[Nereid]] in your party, as she will be completely immune to his Maelstrom attack.

Subier and the rest of the Seven Heroes appeared as summonable units in Lord of Vermilion (ロード・オブ・ヴァーミリオン ''Rōdo obu Vāmirion''), an arcade-based trading card game series developed by Think Garage and distributed by Square Enix. Physical collectable trading cards enabled players to summon and control characters in the game via interactive play surface.
