After a long journey. We have finally reached the end of a fascinating rpg. Far from flawless but a really fun experience.

So after finishing up this game, I did do exactly as I said and I referred to a guide to try and get some information. Some things to note and I guess spoilers ahead, beware!
______
It turns out, I was on the good path. The good path being going to the steppes and meeting the god of light and doing all that jazz is the good ending path. Apparently there are 3 paths that you can get, a good a neutral and an evil ending and they each have a unique dungeon that you progress through. There are specific things that you do or don't do to obtain these and apparently it is supposedly possible to unlock all 3 of these dungeons.
The final boss supposedly has over 85,000 hp, and is above and beyond difficult compared to everything else in the game. From what I can tell, people feel that the boss does not have a solid strategy to beat him down with. I guess I lucked out with the petrification landing funnily enough. I did feel like his aoe rain attack was going to be a major issue to overcome, but knowing he has 85k hp means I probably would not have come even halfway to killing him before he killed my party off.
I did miss some quests but I actually did finish most of them. Even the evil island one was finished completely for this version of the game. You can not get the emerald stone apparently, unless the guide writer just is not aware as to how you get it.
Speaking of those stones, I'm not sure it is possible to get every stone. It seems like they are actually unnecessary. I do not know what their purpose is in the game but we managed to get the good ending with only 3. (1 being the obsidian sword, so at least that has use as a weapon.)
Apparently you can't get evil magic in this version of the game, or at least the guide writer isn't sure how. I also completely missed light magic opportunities.
